A subject offered as an option at form 3 and 4. It consists of 3
papers:
Paper 1 Multiple choice questions
Paper 2 Core structured
questions
Paper 3 Extended
structured questions
Paper 5 Project work
Paper 5 is done at school and marked by the accredited marker.
The students also have the opportunity to attend seminars and
courses in order to enhance their knowledge. They attend a weed
identification and management course at Henderson Research
station annually.
The department has a garden where
students carry out practical work . They are allocated plots and
they grow crops of their choice under the supervision of the
departmental staff. They can also rear small livestock that
include poultry and rabbits. The staff comprises of 2 teaching
staff members who are both are accredited markers and one
qualified technician.
Agriculture Diploma Course
In addition, until 2009, the College offered a two-year Agriculture
Diploma Course. This course was designed for students to study
immediately after Form four. The course was designed and
operated with the on-going assistance of Hartpury College in the
United Kingdom. Many students proceeded to further their
education in Agriculture at Hartpury once they successfully
completed the Watershed College
Agriculture Diploma Course.
This course has been suspended and will resume in 2012 on a
different design with a local University for accreditation.
