Oftentimes, people who aren't fulfilling their destiny
will try to discourage you from fulfilling yours. They may not
do it intentionally, but they'll tell you what you can't do and
how things won't work out.
They're quick to remind you of all your
impossibilities. Your relatives, co-workers and friends may try
to talk you out of your dream, but that's because God didn't put
that promise in them; He
put
it in you. You have to remember that other people don't
determine your destiny; God does. He holds your destiny in the
palm of His hand. If you will keep believing, God will not only
bring it to pass, but He will do more than you can ask or think.
Friend, don't let someone else's unbelief keep you from
believing. Don't let other people talk you out of your dreams.
It's time to get into agreement with God. He says you are well
able. He says you are equipped. He says you are qualified. He
says you are anointed, called and appointed to fulfill every
dream and desire He's placed in your heart!
A Prayer for today
Father in heaven, I trust that You are leading and guiding me today.
I trust that You hold my future. I choose to tune out the
discouraging voices and tune into Your Word. Fill me with Your
peace and joy as You direct my steps. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Spiritual Values
We have a magnificent Inter-denominational chapel where the weekly
Sunday chapel services are conducted. In addition, a weekly
service is held, where guest speakers or the ministers fraternal
address the school. The chapel is also available for quiet
devotional purposes.
Watershed College Chapel (Sarah's Legacy)
Sarah Buckler, a young school teacher at Watershed College died in
April 1997. She was a much traveled and a well educated person
and chose to return to Zimbabwe to live and teach. Teachers are
in touch with the future and on her return from Melbourne
University, Sarah claimed slum kids of Melbourne, with all
possible teaching aids, did not compare with teaching children
of Zimbabwe with virtually little facilities. We has Sarah’s
parents, have decided to spend her estate on a chapel, set
amongst the trees in the Watershed School grounds. It is hoped
that this place will provide comfort, solace, music and a
spiritual haven for the benefit of Watershed community. Mr.
Kenneth Lever (Architect) and Messrs and Cocksedge (Structure
Engineers) have designed the plans and have donated their
services. Further donations of bricks and other raw materials
have also been received from Messrs. R. Knott and M. Van
Beuningen. As can be seen from the above, this project is well
underway and is being managed by the Watershed Chapel Community.
Byrne and Diz Buckler (parents),April 1998
The building of a Chapel at Watershed College has been part of
the development plan since the College’s inception some eleven
years ago. In 1989 one of the pupils of the college, Shane
Buckley, died tragically. His parents kindly donated a sum of
money to be put specifically towards the building of a Chapel in
memory of their Son. This was the start of the Watershed Chapel
Fund which, due to lack of funds, was never developed any
further. Then very sadly, in April 1997, one of the College’s
teachers, Sarah Buckler, died. Her parents also wished to
contribute towards the building of a Chapel in memory of their
daughter. They bequeathed Sarah’s pension money towards the
Chapel fund. This contribution acted as the catalyst to embark
on the construction of the Chapel.
T. Davey
(Headmaster)
The construction of the chapel started immediately. Letters of
appeal were sent out by the Chapel Committee (some of which went
to the U.K. and Holland). This decision to go ahead and start
building using private funds as opposed to School funds was
taken by the Headmaster Mr. T. davey and the Board of Governors
in 1997.
