A MAJOR FUNDRAISING DRIVE has been organized by Mrs A Charidza - College
Head, to build a new hall because the school currently is without
one.
The project for a new hall will cost 3 Million.
This is a one-year plan to commemorate our 25th
anniversary and every month we will have different fundraising activities
to fundraise for our new hall.
You hear about the fundraising drive to build a hall, and you might ask,
“Why don’t we have a hall?” The building of a hall has been a pipe dream
which has transcended the years, from 1987 when Watershed first opened its
doors to the present day. A dream that has had previous College Head’s
scratching their heads and saying, "If only there were funds that would
allow us to make this pipe dream a reality.”
Lately, though,
this pipe dream came into focus.
It focalized when on behalf of the Board, Mr J Goromonzi Chairman, announced
Mrs A Charidza as the new College Head with effect from 1 May 2010.
Mrs A Charidza, not one for scratching her head, put in place an array of fundraising initiatives
to build a State of the Art Green Hall tailored to our environment.
A Green Hall? Yes – A Hall complementing our school’s natural environment
rather than rendering it obsolete. A template for the future!
The new hall is a need because not only will it take the environment into consideration but the
students as well for their academic activities.
The final blueprint is awaiting
approval as the fundraising drive culminates and then the construction of the hall would
start.
