Unstoppable!

THE DEPARTMENT RUNS a fully fledged sports programme throughout the year. The programme is designed in such a way that each and every child is afforded the opportunity to reach their full potential in sport.

The department is headed by the Director of Sport. Each sport is run by a teacher-in-charge. Every member of the teaching staff is expected to coach at least one sport every term. In addition the department has fulltime sports coaches who are involved in the coaching of our various sporting disciplines. Every member of the department is encouraged to continually up skill themselves by undertaking coaching courses regularly.

Our students play in specific age-groups; namely U14, U15, U16, U17 and seniors. Every student must be involved in at least one sport every term. The sports are grouped into two main categories: compulsory and optional, with each student signing up for at least one compulsory sport per term.

COMPULSORY SPORTS

Rugby
Hockey
Swimming
Tennis
Cricket
Athletics
Basketball
Cross country

OPTIONAL SPORTS

Golf
Softball
Squash
volleyball
soccer

The sports programme allocates slots for practice for each sport every week. Athletes are expected to attend all practice sessions and fixtures unless they have been issued with a medical excuse note from the sanatorium. The students are expected to be correctly dressed for both practice and fixtures.

The sports department also runs a physical education department. The lessons are timetabled together with the school academic time table. In forms 1 and two students are introduced to the basics of physical education as well as the basic skills and techniques of the compulsory sports. Physical Education is offered as one of the practical subjects options at form 3 and 4. The students sit for the IGCSE examinations at the end of the two years.

OUR GOAL

To engage in an athlete-centred, coach-directed egoless pursuit of excellence.
